Product Requests (with Shopify Integration)
This article explains how Product Requests work, how partners submit requests in the Partner Portal, and how brands review, approve, and fulfill those requests through Shopify.
Overview
Product Requests allow partners to request specific products directly from the Partner Portal. When approved, brands can optionally auto-create a Shopify order, create a draft order and track promotion obligations.
Enable Product Requests for a Partner (Brand Platform)
Before a partner can submit a product request, the feature must be enabled for them.
Log in to the Brand Platform at
my.inflektion.aiNavigate to the partner you want to enable
Toggle Allow Product Requests to ON
Save changes
Once enabled:
The Product Requests tab will appear for that partner in the Partner Portal
Only products enabled for requests will be visible to the partner
Partner Submits a Product Request (Partner Portal)
From the Partner Portal:
Navigate to Product Requests
Select a product from the available list
(Available products vary by brand and configuration)Enter shipping details
Review any product-specific obligations
Submit the request
Credit Card Collection (If Enabled)
Brands may choose to collect a credit card during signup
The card is not charged at request time
The card can be charged later only if promotion obligations are not met
Example obligation:
If the partner does not complete:
1 email promotion and
2 social media posts
within 60 days, the brand may charge $50 to the card on file
View Product Requests in the Brand Platform
Once submitted, the request appears in the Brand Platform.
Go to Product Requests
Locate the new request (shows partner name and product)
Review request details and status
Approve the Request
Brands have two approval options:
Option A: Approve Only
Marks the request as approved (will require manual fulfillment)
Option B: Approve & Create Shopify Order
Approves the request
Automatically creates a Shopify order
Requires an active Shopify app integration with the Inflektion App installed.
This option is typically used when:
The product is fulfilled directly via Shopify
You want fulfillment and tracking to happen automatically
Track Promotion
After approval, the system creates a Pending Promotion for the partner.
Promotion window (example): 60 days
Brand can track whether the partner:
Promoted successfully → Mark as Promoted
Failed to promote → Mark as Did Not Promote
If set to "Did Not Promote" you will have the option to charge the card on file.
This tracking helps enforce promotion requirements tied to product requests.
Shopify Order Creation (If Enabled)
When Approve & Create Shopify Order is selected:
A Shopify order is automatically created
The order appears immediately in the connected Shopify store
No manual order entry is required
